Why Is There a Blue Box Around My Logo or Avatar?

A blue box around your logo or avatar usually comes from how the signature was copied, not from the signature itself. Copy it again from the Open in New Tab window instead of straight from the signature page, and the box should go away.

Why it happens

Your logo is a link to your website. When you copy the signature straight from the htmlsig.com signature page, some email clients, like Gmail and Apple Mail, pick up extra page styling along with it and draw a visible border or highlight around the linked image.

How to fix it

  1. Open your signature on htmlsig.com, ideally in Chrome or Firefox.
  2. Click Open in New Tab below the installation instructions.
  3. In the window that opens, select the whole signature and copy it (Cmd + C on Mac, Ctrl + C on Windows).
  4. Delete the old signature in your email client's settings and paste the new copy.
  5. Save and send yourself a test email.

If the box is still there, write to us at support@htmlsig.com and tell us which email client and version you use.

For full installation steps, see how to add your signature to Gmail or how to add your signature to Apple Mail.
