Yes. Every field in the htmlsig signature editor is optional. Fill in only what you want people to see, and anything you leave blank is left out of your signature completely, with no empty lines or stray separators.
What you can skip
Each tab in the editor is optional too:
- Main: name, job title, email, phone numbers, company, website, address and logo. Use as many or as few as you like.
- Social: icons only appear for the networks you add a link for.
- Disclaimer: hidden unless you set Show Disclaimer to Yes. A sample disclaimer is filled in for you, but it won't appear unless you turn it on.
- Banner: off by default. It only shows when Show Banner is Yes and you've uploaded an image.
- Extras: app store, calendar and WhatsApp buttons only appear when you fill them in.
- Style: already set to sensible defaults, so you don't have to change anything.
- Badges: optional, and available once you've saved your signature.
It's still worth clicking through each tab before you save so you don't miss something you'd like to include.
Can I add fields later?
Yes. Open your signature, click Edit, fill in the new fields and click Update Signature. If you've already installed the signature in your email app, copy and install it again so the change shows up there.
Most text fields have a 255-character limit. If you see an error when saving, read What does the "text too long" error mean?.
