A generator is a signature template you design once and share with your team as a link. Each teammate opens the link, fills in their own details, and gets a signature that matches your design, without needing an htmlsig account.
Generators are included in the Plus (1 generator), Team (5), Scale (20) and Enterprise (100) plans, and in the older Pro plan. They aren't available on Starter or Basic. See pricing to compare plans.
How generators work
You control the design: layout, colors, fonts, logo, banner and anything else you set in the template. You also choose which fields your teammates are allowed to fill in, such as name, job title, email, phone numbers or social links. Everything else stays locked to your template.
How to create a generator
- Go to your dashboard and click New Generator in the Generators section.
- Build the template in the signature editor, just like a normal signature, and save it.
- On the next screen, give the generator a Name, edit the Instructions your teammates will see, and tick the Editable fields they can fill in.
- Save the generator.
- Copy the generator link (use the copy icon next to it on your dashboard, or the Share Generator section on the generator page) and send it to your team.
What happens when a teammate uses the link
- They fill in the editable fields and click Create Signature. No login is needed.
- They get a signature page with installation instructions for their email client.
- The signature belongs to your account and appears in your dashboard, so it counts toward your plan's signature limit.
Managing a generator
From the Generators section of your dashboard (or View All Generators) you can:
- Click Signatures to see every signature created with that generator.
- Click Edit Template to change the design.
- Click Edit Fields to change the name, instructions or editable fields.
- Click Delete to remove the generator.
If your subscription is no longer active, the generator link stops working and shows "This generator is no longer available."
